WHO WE ARE
PracticeHere.ca is a hub for the Interior Physician Recruitment and Retention (IPRR) Network—a non-profit network of family physicians and recruiters representing eight Divisions of Family Practice from across the Interior region of British Columbia, Canada.
WHAT WE DO
We provide free services to support family physician recruitment, retention, and retirement transitions across all kinds of communities: urban, rural, and Indigenous. We also work to coordinate recruitment resources in the region through collaboration with Interior Health ↗ and the First Nations Health Authority ↗.
WHERE WE ARE and WHY YOU SHOULD PRACTICE HERE
Physicians are drawn to the Interior of British Columbia—which includes much of the southern half of this western province in Canada—because of its diverse medical practice options and balanced lifestyle. Its friendly communities feature endless year-round recreation activities, with lakes, rivers, mountains and valleys at your doorstep. Choose from 57 rural or urban medical locations and connect with 8 Divisions of Family Practice to help curate your ideal family practice fit: whether it's a private practice, independent non-profit clinic, primary care network ↗, walk-in service, urgent care, Indigenous primary care initiative, locum position or otherwise. We can also guide you to other primary care opportunities, including maternity, rural emergency, geriatric, and sports medicine. With humility, we acknowledge that the IPRR network is collectively gathered across the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of seven First Nations: Dakelh Dene, Ktunaxa, Nlaka’pamux, Secwepemc, St’at’imc, Syilx and Tsilhqot’in. This region is also home to 15 Métis Chartered Communities.

DIVISIONS OF FAMILY PRACTICE
The Divisions of Family Practice↗ are independent non-profits funded by the Family Practice Services Committee↗. Each Division represents a specific area or collection of communities in BC, and works to support its members (family practice physicians like you!) through administrative services and community projects.
There are eight Divisions in the Interior. Below, you can check out a Division's website for more detailed information about opportunities in their area, or contact their recruitment team for support. They can help you explore specific opportunities and communities by introducing you to clinics and resources, showing you around the area, and advising you on which opportunities best suit you.
